So much content is available electronically – not all of which is suitable for all ages, which prompted Tvidia to develop Tvidia Verify.
Verify, the company’s flagship product in the digital world can be integrated into a complete delivery system or be an overlay to an existing one. It offers the most flexible and powerful user verification solution on the market today and verifies user credentials against consumer, business and proprietary databases.
User ‘age’ verification process is simple and is based on the
premise of ‘protecting consumers’ from inappropriate content.
Government agencies have published guidelines specifically directed at carriers and content providers, all in an effort to protect consumers. In brief, these guidelines direct content providers to classify electronic ready material rated for specific age groups
and control access to this conten, just like censorship is to the movie industry.
Very simply, Tvidia Verify requires both the user and the mobile device to be registered. On initial attempt to access ‘age restricted’ electronic media through a mobile device, the user is presented with an easy to use carrier customized GUI (Graphical User Interface) initiating the registration process. The user enters identity and age information, which is verified against trusted online databases. Successful verification enables and displays restricted menu lists. An unsuccessful verification attempt continues to block access to restricted menus, further attempts to access restricted content locks out the user's mobile device. After registering, customers are able to manage their accounts online.
With our Verify solution, parents have been empowered too. Parents who provide their under-age children with mobile devices, e.g. cell phones, are now able to disable
the registration and verification process, which in turns disables restricted menus altogether – we call it “Lockout”.
